Peer Helper Holiday Party

Thank you to all the students, families, and community members who donated toys and other gifts so the Manor Peer Helpers could host a holiday party for over 25 elementary children in the Penn Manor community.  We were joined this year by many former Peer Helper students and other high school students to help with the event. This is an annual event where the Millersville Women’s Club along with our Peer Helpers transform the library into a holiday shop so children can pick gifts for family members.  The students were also treated to lunch and created a craft and were visited by a special guest who brought gifts for each child.  Items not used during the event are donated to local charities thanks to the efforts of our school social workers.  See the pictures below.

Book Buddy Party

On Friday, both 7th grade teams had their Book Buddy party. It was a celebration that every 7th grade student has read at least one book already this school year.  It was a celebration  that we wrote response letters back and forth between mystery buddies.   It was a celebration of the beginning of a good friendship that has spawned from the exchanging of six letters.  Some of the book buddies were community members, teachers, and 8th grade students.  Below are several pictures of students sharing with the adults about their books.

Manor Middle School to conduct Safe Schools drill

All Penn Manor schools will be conducting security drills in the coming weeks as required under a recent change in state law.

The Pennsylvania General Assembly passed Act 44-2018, which requires that a mandatory security drill be conducted within the first 90 days of each school year. Below is the letter all students received to take home to parents.  If you have any questions, please contact the principal’s office.
